About this project.

Let's Chic Snake Creek is a North Miami Beach Parks & R.E.C. initiative to create the first universally accessible fitness trail in the city!

Snake Creek Trail is a 3.4 mile trail/linear park that consists of two playgrounds, adult fitness stations, trash receptacles, picnic tables and benches.

Snake Creek Trail is not only scenic and accessible from different points, it serves as a great mode of transportation for cyclists and pedestrians, since it spans two major municipalities.

Through the Let's Chic Snake Creek initiative, we will be able to provide the community with 14 fitness stations that are ADA accessible and incorporate SafeStop technology for a workout that's smooth and hazard free.

Activities such as cycling, walking and running feel entirely different when performed outdoors, because you get to enjoy nature while getting your workout. Incorporating outdoor fitness into your life is beneficial to your physical and mental health.

So, let's chic Snake Creek! With your help, we can fund a new and improved fitness trail that is free and accessible to everyone.

How will this impact your community?

Our goal is to provide residents of all ages with new opportunities for regular exercise in a welcoming and safe environment, where everyone's unique qualities and abilities are recognized and appreciated. We firmly believe that people of all ages, races, income levels and abilities should have complete access to programs, facilities, places and spaces. We are committed to this philosophy of social equity.

Let's Chic Snake Creek connects people and parks and promotes health and wellness. Creating
a fully accessible fitness trail would increase opportunities for physical activity, allow for increased mobility and provide boundless recreational opportunities for everyone in the community.

About us!

North Miami Beach Parks & R.E.C. is dedicated to providing and promoting a broad range of safe, enjoyable recreational and educational opportunities for citizens and a wide variety of programs for all ages. In addition to passive parks, open spaces, and tot lots, the department manages three swimming pools, five community centers, the Arthur I. Snyder Tennis Complex, summer camps and after-school programs, and the Marjorie and William McDonald Center, a multi-purpose facility.

The department recognizes the importance of cultural enrichment in the lives of all citizens by providing festivals, musicals, concerts, and special performances in our 931-seat, state-of-the-art, Julius Littman Performing Arts Theater. Other presentations and special events are offered at the Senator Gwen Margolis Amphitheater, an open-air facility behind our library, with grassy sloping knolls that seat 1,000.
