What is Fund Your Park?

Fund Your Park is the crowdfunding platform for members of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), where they can post exciting and innovative new projects for donors to fund. The National Recreation and Park Association is operating Fund Your Park as a service to our members.

Who can use Fund Your Park?

Fund Your Park is open to members of NRPA within the United States.

What projects are eligible for Fund Your Park?

Projects must serve the member’s community and have a fundraising goal that can be met through the contacts within their community. The project also must be tied to NRPA’s Three Pillars.

When can I post a project on Fund Your Park?

Projects are posted as part of a slate of projects. This way, we ensure that there is the "critical mass" that is crucial for crowdfunding success.

How much will I pay to list a project on Fund Your Park?

Agencies that list a Fund Your Park project pay fees totaling about 5% of funds raised, which covers credit card processing and the service provider’s fee for the crowdfunding platform

How can I be successful at raising money on Fund Your Park?

Successful crowdfunding is all about engaging your community. You will make your fundraising goal through many small donations, so marketing and communication with your agency’s friends and supporters is essential for success. Have a solid plan to use photos and video, email and social media to promote your project and drive supporters to your listing on Fund Your Park.

When will we receive money raised through Fund Your Park?

You will recieve the total amount that was raised less the 5 percent administration charge in about two weeks after the close of your campaign.

How long are projects listed on Fund Your Park?

Projects are listed for 30 days.

Are contributions tax-deductible?

Yes, contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by Federal or state law. Contributions are 100 percent tax-deductible if there are no “perks” received in conjunction with the gift. If you provide perks to donors, the tax-deductible amount will depend on the perk’s value. Please consult your accountant or tax attorney for details.

What happens to donor data that is submitted to Fund Your Park?

Donors who give to your Fund Your Park campaign will be asked for their name, email and postal address at check-out. This data is available for you to download as an Excel or CSV document through your Fund Your Park admin portal. NRPA will also receive this data and will use it to communicate with Fund Your Park donors who opt in to market the site.

How do I know the status of my project?

NRPA will contact the individual identified on the application to indicate whether their project was selected.
